folkfuck love stories and campfire songs about the James River, T4T, traumatizing breakups, life changing weeks, autumn, far away friends, pining, crushes, yearning, surreal dreams, cross-country roadtrips, living alone, graffiti, being a dog, and walking til your feet blister, told under a haze of classical guitar, Casiotone, bad drum machines, field recordings, and tape hiss.
this is a big one for me. since i was a little kid i wanted to make a vocal-led singer-songwriter album, but things always kept my brain from doing that. living with my parents, not being a very good singer, being afraid to write words and be vulnerable, and voice dysphoria.
in august 2025 it finally just happened. i was writing songs every day, recording them ramshackle in my living room with half-broken keyboards, guitars, and two microphones (sm57 & at2020). i had far too many feelings, and there didn't seem to be a better way to express them than my own voice and words, and god it felt good.
my living room during the recording process.
stratocaster, yamaha classical guitar, framus 12 string, global parlor guitar, squier jazz bass, my ex's fender rhodses (lol), casio sk-8, casio pt-10, casio mt-65, casio sa-5, melodica, eventide timefactor, eqd rainbow machine (not sure if i used it?), yamaha dd-20c, multitracked in ableton, mastered onto type 1 cassette via JVC kd-w110.
